Design Inspiration Friday

Where did this week go? We're getting closer to summer so that means a busy Spring time with sports, music and activities. Oh I can't wait for summer days! This weekend, we'll feel one step closer to summer since we're having an ice cream Birthday party for our twin girls. I used these adorable printables for their invitation. It's going to be fun and I'll be sharing some details here next week.

Kristin and her team at 6th Street Design School are doing an incredible makeover for one of their clients. This kitchen is so pretty! I'm having bar stool envy. Mostly, I am taking notes on this kitchen since we have similar counters and cream cabinets in our kitchen too.

Mimi Thorisson has an amazing home in France and makes beautiful food. I absolutely love her style of writing and her blog. I mean look at that beautiful wallpaper! 

I first started following Pure Fit Pure Food on Instagram. They have some great workout videos and inspirational images of food and exercise. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Friday! I hope you all have a great long weekend. I haven't done a 'Design Inspiration Friday' for awhile but I really want to get back to it. There are so many blogs, images and ideas that inspire me and I want to share some here.

Why stripes work in any room: Stripes can be neutral and play well with other patterns such as florals, checks, and geometric. They can be also be bold and bright. Stripes on the floor, upholstery, walls or rugs look great.

Design Inspiration Friday: Art In The Bathroom

Don't you love something to look at when your in a bathroom? Bathrooms have such potential to be a serene or inspirational space. I tend toward the nautical look when it comes to bathrooms, and I really enjoy a gallery wall look in there too. I'm still working on our navy powder room with some art and thought I would give us all some pretty images to get inspired.

The only problem with this bathroom is if you have littles- don't you think this might be hard to keep things in working order and clean with images and prints that low? However, I do love how it's a mixed gallery throughout.

Design Inspiration Friday: Elements Of Romance In The Home

Happy Valentine's Day! We are still covered with snow from a big storm. The kids and I made a lot of fun Valentine crafts and cards for their school parties, which are all delayed now because we got so much snow. Since it's a day of romance and love I've been thinking about what makes our homes feel more romantic. Here are some ideas-most have to do with layering a room to make it cozy.

Layering the window treatments and bedding make this room elegant and cozy. A simple white bedding with wallpaper and accents of black are striking.

All these rooms bring in romantic:
Elements of nature (i.e flowers, greenery, shells),
Mix of fabrics
Eclectic lighting
Collections and art. 
Putting all these elements together can help any room feel more cozy and happy. I know I'm more inspired to create more of a romantic look in my home. I hope you have a lovely weekend with your valentines.

Coming into a house is your first glimpse and feel of the home. I love how each of these entries has a corner and they've done something unique. This top one is a favorite with that velvet settee, the herringbone brick floor, and the molding. Oh and those urns- complete package!

These images are great inspirations for our home since we are looking to spice things up in the entryway this year. This weekend, we should be getting some wood and doors delivered for our basement.
